Wow. I am finally doing it. First an Instagram, now a full fledged blog...watch out!!!
.
Welcome...my name is Kelly and I am writing to you "live" from my little in-town neighborhood of Glenwood Park, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I am a 39 year-old in corporate America at a Fortune 50 company, originally from Pennsylvania, engaged to a 40-something executive who I like to call "Mr. Big", living with him, and my maltipoo sidekick, Yardley, who loves to travel, is a huge fan of Atlanta—especially since you can get almost anywhere in the world, lives for experiences, enjoys friends, and a big believer in positivity, living your best life, and inspiration…especially career inspiration…because we all need a little fairy dust sometimes.
.
I started my Instagram for a love a travel, experiences, and telling stories. A few months later, I thought wouldn’t it be cool to experiment more with my creative side, play around with social media, and learn a bit more about entrepreneurship. I bought a website and a subscription to Squarespace to set it all up because this was going to rock. And then, life happened. Needless to say, I haven’t spent the time, I thought I would on it and I have been a bit disappointed in myself.
.
A few weeks ago, scrolling through my LinkedIn feed, I noticed award winning business writer, Mel Brooks, defined confidence as trying. And then, last week, a colleague at work got me into some career inspiring podcasts…Jenna Kutcher’s #goaldigger, Rachel Hollis, and the ever well-known Sheryl Sandberg. Throughout all of my listening on starting a business, a passion, etc., I heard the same story…if you don’t put something out there, you will never have something. The underlying message is it doesn’t have to be perfect…try. This is me trying. It isn’t going to be perfect, in fact it is going to be down right messy as this website isn’t even completed for a launch, but we are going to do this together. (In fact, my website even still has some of the templates up!!! Ugh…for another day, but I am trying.)
.
If you have a suggestion/feedback or anything else, bring it. I am ready for it and all ears. Here’s to Kelly’s Travelary…and all of the adventures yet to come!
.
Let's make this interactive. You ask a question. I give an answer.
Love,
Kelly
