011 | 2 Reasons I Love When My Guy Travels

It sounds crazy, but I LOVE it when Mr. Big travels.  Again, it sounds crazy, but there are two (2) reasons for this:

.

Miss Him | When you don’t see someone for a period of time…longer than a day at work, there is an anticipation which is more than the daily separation of work, commitments, children, etc.  It truly gives you an opportunity to understand what you have and why you love the other person.

Me Time | It sounds selfish, but it is true.  I get to do whatever I want with little consequence.  While Mr. Big is away on work trips, I have been known to go on “me” dates, be lazy, catch-up with girlfriends, travel myself, and work long hours without missing time with him.  It is no guilt time to be me and do my thing no matter what he thinks.  How nice is that?!?  I want to sit in a bathtub for an hour?  Cool…call it 1.5 hours…maybe longer with a good book.  I want to see my friends every night he is gone and dance all night?  As long as I take care of the dog and make it to work what does he care?  I am telling you…”me time” is a nice little bonus.

Add-on Travel | Okay, I said there was only two reasons, but I definitely have a half a reason.  I love adding on a weekend before or after Mr. Big’s work trip…or mine for that matter if it is to a good locale to visit.  I love traveling smarter…especially when a company is picking up part of the cost for you to explore.  Does it really matter if you fly in on Monday versus Friday evening?  It is usually even cheaper to travel in and spend a Saturday. 😉

When Mr. Big travels, I miss him…A LOT.  It is a question of is the glass half empty or full.  I choose to see the positives in the situation.  Do you have any to add to the list?
